The PIE fund, which aims to deliver double-digit returns, is long-only and will focus on a concentrated portfolio of between 25 to 35 companies with strong wealth creation credentials.
The launch of the fund forms part of AMP Capital’s broader strategy to develop its global equities offering.
The Global Companies Fund aims to offer New Zealand investors capital growth, global diversification and capital preservation through the investment team’s deep understanding of how companies can create value over the long term.
Grant Hassell, managing director AMP Capital New Zealand, said: “We are delighted to bring the AMP Capital Global Companies Fund to New Zealand as a unique and exciting investment opportunity.
“It’s through our ability to leverage AMP Capital’s global capabilities that we’re able to bring innovative solutions to our clients. The team’s approach is concentrated on a small number of companies that they believe are exceptional in terms of delivering long-term sustainable and diversified cash flows, and growth over a long-term horizon.
“We’ve received strong interest from investors who wish to diversify their equities exposure across markets and are attracted by the competitive fee structure. The capability has been running for 18 months and has delivered exceptional results for investors to date.”
