Helen Skinner is leaving Craigs Investment Partners to become new head of responsible investment at ANZ Investments.
She has more than 20 years of experience in the investments industry, holding senior roles both in the United Kingdom and New Zealand, most recently as the head of emerging wealth at Craigs IP.
“I’m passionate about responsible investment and very excited to be bringing my expertise and experience to New Zealand’s biggest funds management business," she says.
“KiwiSaver and other managed funds invest in companies whose actions have a big impact on our collective future. I am looking forward to being part of a team focussed on delivering sustainable performance in a sustainable way.”
ANZ Investments chief investment officer Paul Huxford said Skinner brought both international experience and a focus on delivering exceptional client outcomes to the role.
“This appointment highlights the importance of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors including the impact of climate change into our investment process.”
ANZ NZ managing director for funds management Fiona Mackenzie said responsible investment was increasingly important to investors and fits well with ANZ Investments’ hands-on investment approach.
“Investors rely on the expertise of our team to combine the best quality investments for each of our funds. As a long term investor, we understand the important role ESG expertise plays.
“We actively engage with the companies that we invest in so that we can have confidence that they will be able to mitigate risks, and capitalise on opportunities relating to ESG factors over the long term.”
