Two leading commentators share their views on the lay of the land for the New Zealand financial services industry in 2009.
Dr John McDermott, Head of Economics at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, will deliver an off the-record Post March 2009 Monetary Policy Statement briefing, and also examine how current economic forces are shaping the business cycle for the year ahead.
Angus Dale-Jones, Director Supervision at the Securities Commission will outline the impact of the global market turmoil and recent legislative changes on financial services regulation in New Zealand. He will provide an update on the impact of the new laws for financial advisers, and on the Commission’s supervision strategy
