While there is plenty of doom and gloom about the property market in the mainstream media, we have a different view at the NZ Property Investor magazine.

We are seeing signs that the investment part of the market is starting to get active and people are looking to buy residential property again. It seems much of the reason for this is lower house prices and cheap interest rates. In this environment more properties stack up as being positive cash flow. I'll tell you more about this in a minute.

One of the things we are seeing at the magazine is an increasing interest from readers in property investment. December and January are always strong months in terms of retail sales.

Our first figures for February show that retail sales through all the big stores are up significantly. This means the magazine and it's advertisers are reaching a wider market.
