FPIA Success Forum 2006

Momentum is gathering as far as preparation for Success Forum 2006 is concerned and a lot has been happening over the last few weeks.

Wednesday, November 16th 2005, 9:29AM
Sky City Convention Centre Auckland 21 – 23 June 2006

Momentum is gathering as far as preparation for Success Forum 2006 is concerned and a lot has been happening over the last few weeks.

We have been overwhelmed by the offers of assistance we have received from within our industry, particularly in terms of suggestions for presentations. We do appreciate your input into what is after all your Conference.

This input is allowing us to prepare what we believe will be the most exciting, challenging, thought-provoking and fun Conference ever. We hope that when you leave Success Forum 2006 you will be bursting with enthusiasm to get back to work and put into practice all the new ideas you’ve picked up and have met a whole lot of new and interesting people.

Just to remind you, as previously advised, the whole programme will be managed by that most professional of MC’s, David Nottage. He will be introducing UK speaker of the year, the very amusing Gervase Phinn, the fascinating Li Cunxin – “Mao’s Last Dancer” and the inspirational Jason Barrell.

Other main platform attractions include John Shackleton who says his passion “is to help people to understand how to improve their attitude, confidence, self-esteem and mental focus” and to “harness the awesome power they have inside and use it to create outstanding results in their lives”.

We are also lucky to have another UK-based speaker, John Mather, who is a financial planner and 28 year MDRT member with 16 Top of the Table Credits. John will be talking about turning adversity to your advantage and seeing regulation as your friend by thinking outside the square and delivering a unique planning experience – making the advisory role an enjoyable experience for all concerned.

One of several innovations in 2006 is the introduction of a Leaders Panel on the main platform. We have invited the CEO’s of the largest product providers and other leading industry players to participate in a panel discussion entitled “What has to Change?” Each leader will give us the benefit of their wisdom as to their view of our industry and its future and then there will be an opportunity for you to put your questions.

Something else we are particularly excited about is the introduction of a 6th business stream dealing with issues regarding Business Management. This new stream will include workshops on such subjects as HR issues – including relevant legislation, preparation of job descriptions and motivating support staff; marketing and branding of financial services and how to make yourself stand out from the crowd; succession planning and valuing your business (among other things).

The other streams of Fundamental Risk, Advanced Risk, Investment, Advanced Investment and Best Practice/Ethics will also include high quality, interactive sessions. We are paying particular attention to ensuring that these have the widest possible appeal and are inclusive of people working in all areas of our industry – be it product providers, people working in large Corporate situations, people working in the back office, people working in dealer groups or whatever.

Another area to which we are paying particular attention is the social aspect of the Conference. This is the time to relax or let your hair down and also to get to know your colleagues and make new friends. With the opportunity for early registration on Tuesday the 20th also comes another opportunity for mixing and mingling socially.

But the social event of the year will be the Wednesday evening function with the theme “The Love Boat goes Island Hopping”. Come prepared (and dressed) to be transported to your preferred tropical island paradise.

We are grateful for the business and financial support of our commercial partners for this Conference. Without the investment of their sponsorship, time, energy, resources and particularly their people, this event would not be possible. We are committed to ensuring that they get a great return on their investment. If you would like to know more about how you or your organisation could become involved, please contact Marg Craig at The Conference Team on (03) 343 5064 or marg@conferenceteam.co.nz

We’re already seeing huge demand for registration so please don’t delay – you can register on-line at www.fpia.org.nz

We look forward to seeing you in Auckland in June 2006.
