Guarantee scheme: Who's in

Depositrates.co.nz is keeping tabs on which firms have applied to join the government’s deposit guarantee scheme.

Thursday, October 16th 2008, 9:40AM
The following firms have announced that they have, or are intending to apply to opt into the government’s deposit guarantee scheme.

Officials have yet to announce which companies have been admitted to the scheme.

Likewise they have not released a list of applicants. This list is made up of those who have publicly said they plan to join up.

Treasury says it will only post information about approved guarantees on its website once those approvals are completed.

"We are not releasing lists of applicants – only approvals," a spokesman says.

He could not give a firm date of when the first approvals will be published.

We will update the list daily.
