Dream team: 120 properties in 12 years
Shannon and Hayley Tawhiti, who are profiled in this month’s NZ Property Investor magazine, are thought to be among the country’s wealthiest private residential property investors.
The couple bought their first property in Hastings for $120,000 in 2004. Fast-forward 12 years and they have built a net worth of well over $20 million.
Still in their early 30s, the high school sweethearts started in property at a young age and were serious from the get-go.
While neither came from a wealthy family, both credit their hard-working parents with passing on the work ethic they have needed to build their property empire in a relatively short time.
