Finance sector more appealing: Survey
Recruitment firm Ranstad polled 7000 working-age New Zealanders, asking them which industries and organisations were the most attractive, and what they thought was important when looking for a new employer.
While media came in the number one spot, the banking and financial sector had moved up the rankings to fifth.
Spokesman Jeff McDonald said there had been significant growth in positive perceptions of the work of financial advisers and other staff in the financial industries since the global financial crisis.
He said respondents who favoured the financial services industry rated competitive remuneration as the number one drawcard. That was followed by long-term job security and interesting work.
