New guide to adviser education launched
PAA chief executive Edward Richards said the Educational Guide booklet will give clarity around education standards.
"There is an array of information floating around on the education side of the deal, but there's nothing that drives home, loud and clear, what is that advisers needs to do and how they are placed," Richards said. "Advisers may need 400 - 500 hours of part-time study to meet the standards - and experienced operators are not exempt by any means."
He said the guide gives "independent guidance" on the most suitable educational pathway for advisers, according to their own specific needs.
"Achieving the new educational standards could be time-consuming and rushed if you don't understand your pathway. Get qualified, get it done and got on with your profession - that's our message," Richards said.
