Purpose
This course aims to to provide learners with the necessary skills and knowledge to identify the issues and processes involved in personal risk management (insurance), and to provide advice on effective strategies to mitigate risk.
Who should attend this course?
- Have you started, or are you considering working in the insurance sector and intend giving personal risk management advice
- Would you like instruction in the basic skills of personal risk planning as practiced throughout the industry
- Do you need an understanding of the different insurance products available in New Zealand

Content
- An overview of the NZ Insurance Industry
- Risk management practices and techniques
- Legislation and compliance relevant to the insurance industry
- Risk products and services including general (non life) insurance and life insurance
- The role of the underwriter and the underwriting process
- Advice process for providing insurance advice
Course delivery method: 3 day classroom course or distance learning
Cost of course: $900 (3 days) or $450 for distance learning (incl GST)
CPD/CE Credits: 15 CPD Credits (Technical)
