Olds, previously with Mortgage Express, starts with Viva Home Loans on Wednesday 1 July, and says the opportunity to work somewhere where she could have a vested long term investment as a shareholder as well as continuing to work at the industry's coal face with clients, was a major motivating factor in her shift.
“I wanted to work in a business environment where the primary focus is the care and guidance of its valued customers to make sure they are really well positioned for the next phase of local market conditions.” “Viva has given me the opportunity where I can be completely independent of any banking or real estate organization, and I can guarantee I have the best support structure possible, and best opportunities to ensure my clients always have the best options available to them.”
“What’s also exciting is the opportunity to have a vested long term investment in the business as a shareholder.” Olds, who was the New Zealand Mortgage Broker of the Year for the Canterbury region in 2007, says she considered a number of alternatives to find the best solution for to continue to serve her clients and settled upon Viva Home Loans.
Viva Home Loans started operations in January 2009 and the business is represented across New Zealand with a network of branch owners and independent lenders, all with considerable experience in the mortgage industry and a focus on local knowledge and relationships.
Many of its inaugural members have previously worked for either Wizard Home Loans or GE Money. Due to the global financial challenges GE announced in December 2008 that they were closing their operations in Australia and New Zealand.
This resulted in the decision to sell the Wizard business in Australia and close the New Zealand business. The group that formed Viva represent some of the most experienced members of the Wizard/GE home lending
