Abbot, who won the NZMBA Mortgage broker of the year award in 2008 has resigned from his current mortgage aggregator to join adviser-owned mortgage and insurance group Share.
Abbot says the future of his business lies in providing a more holistic advice model encompassing insurance advice and he sees Share as the appropriate business partner to provide the training, technology and enhanced remuneration required to achieve his business goals.
Abbot has cited professionalism, market leading advice processes and the ability to have an ownership stake in Share future as his key reasons for the move.
Share general manager Bronwyn Shanks says she is "delighted to have attracted a broker of Finlay's calibre. This latest recruitment coup endorses the strength of the Share broker proposition and further augments our network of award winning mortgage brokers."
