Financial advisers from across the country were recognised for their contributions to the industry at the Professional Advisers Association conference in Auckland on Friday night.
The organisation awarded gongs to mortgage adviser of the year Grant McFlinn, insurance adviser of the year Dean Young and KiwiSaver/investment adviser of the year, David Isaacs.
The winners were chosen via a formal process by a panel of judges, made up of Colin James of Skills Org, John Melton of the PAA, and Barry Read, of IDS.
PAA general manager Jenny Campbell said the judges had an unenviable task. Winners were judged in three areas: The product partners nomination and rankings, evidence of their advice processes and an overall summary of how the adviser delivered value to clients.
“The judges were able to identify the advisers who embrace the philosophy of a ‘excellent adviser’ – one who truly cares about their clients, and who has invested in their business to develop an outstanding customer experience while delivering customer driven outcomes.”
She said the calibre of the finalists was second-to-none. “The PAA would like to express their real gratitude to the judges for all their hard work on these awards – and of course, our heartiest congratulations to all the finalists and winners.”
As well as the adviser awards, PAA recognised the industry’s leading providers.
Partners Life was named insurer of the year, lender of the year was ASB and KiwiSaver/Investment provider of the year was Fidelity Life.
