Mortgage Express (MX) is without a general manager and is being run by its owner since its former boss David Gopperth left after just over three years in the job.

Gopperth, or 'Goppy' as he was sometimes affectionately called, is well known in the brokerage business, after 11 years at Westpac, nine of them as head of Westpac's Mortgage Broker Distribution.
Gopperth's Linked In profile suggests this was a huge job with a $10 million expense line. Total sales were $2 billion.
He is now a 50% shareholder and joint director of a new residential renting and leasing company, Nitroshark, based in Christchurch. This firm was registered last September, according to the Companies Office.
Gopperth declined to be interviewed about his move. But Christchurch is his home town and he worked in the property sector after leaving Westpac and before joining MX.
“I think he has done his time in the mortgage space and feels it is time to move on,” one broker said.
MX has no general manager listed on its website and calls to its office were referred to Sarah Johnson, who is chief executive of MX's part owner, Astute Financial Management Group.
Johnson did not respond to texts seeking comment.
MX is the financial arm of Harcourt's real estate business.
