International focus pays off in changing market
Koura is celebrating the success of its strategic high growth KiwiSaver fund, which has topped the table over the past year, according to Morningstar, with an 18 percent return.
Founder Rupert Carlyon said that was being driven by a number of things, including having no allocation to New Zealand assets.
“We've made the strategic decision that we're not a fan of the New Zealand stock market at the moment … so we've kind of kept that as an international fund only for the moment.”
He said that had served the fund well because internationally markets had been so strong while New Zealand was largely flat.
