Value investors shine
Value investment mangers have gone some wat to evening the score by beating growth managers in the September quarter after 15 years or so of underperforming, according to the latest Mercer Jessup Weaver survey.
In commentary, MJW showed a graph that had value managers outperforming growth managers for most of the 30 years from 1980 but were overtaken by growth managers from the late 2000s.

MJW’s Ben Trollip’s analysis also found that although the MSCI World Index of shares was up 1.8% in local currency terms, that performance was driven mostly by the information technology and energy sectors, which have also been the most volatile as the conflict in the Middle East re-intensified.
