IPAC says under the awards process funds need to meet the following criteria, as at May 1, to be eligible for nomination. To pass these screens a fund must have;
- New Zealand residency status
- Active management
- Minimum three year performance history
- Key person retention of minimum two years.
- Generally available to the public
- No costs to the investor outside those costs which impact on fund performance
- No potentially high upfront costs
- No lock in period of more than one year
- Minimum initial investment of no more than $5000
- Fund mandate consistency (reasonable)
- Minimum fund size $10 million
- An IPAC 4 or 5 star rating within the past six months.
