BT Fun Management?BT has been named the Best Place to Work in a survey run by Unlimited magazine.
The company headed off 86 other companies (including the likes of Microsoft, Xtra, Lion Breweries and McDonalds) to take out the top award.
Unlimited says the things that matter most to employees relate not so much to individual job satisfaction, but to their perceptions of the organisation. "People like the feeling their company is successful, they want to believe in its objectives and to be proud to be part of it. "
JV doesn't alter the starsMorningstar says it has made no changes to the ratings it has given ING-owned Armstrong Jones and ANZ, following the announcement earlier this month that the bank is planning to outsource its funds management to ING.
AJ currently has a five star rating, while ANZ has three.
Morningstar says before the joint venture can be consummated there are a number of key issues which need to be solved including the fact that both organisations have existing relationships with other managers (ANZ with Frank Russell and GMO, AJ with WestpacTrust).
Morningstar says ANZ customers are likely to benefit under the deal as "AJ and ING Group offer a more stable investment team with demonstrated excellence in funds management."
Fidelity joins Russell
Frank Russell Company has selected the growth manager Fidelity International Limited to manage a portion of the Russell International Shares Fund.
This assignment of $208 million was completed as part of Russell's multiple-manager process, which seeks to emphasise stock selection skill while providing broad diversification.
Fidelity joins Bernstein (value), Capital Guardian (market oriented), The Boston Company (value), Marvin & Palmer (growth), Turner (growth), Westpeak (market oriented) and
Alliance (growth) - taking the number of managers in the fund from seven to eight.
Fidelity's assignment is designed to mitigate the risks associated with country and sector bets.
