First NZ Capital, like its retail cousin, is the result of a management buyout of Credit Suisse First Boston's NZ business. It is owned and managed by former staff of CSFB and is headed by Bill Trotter, CSFB's former New Zealand chief executive.
The firm retains a strategic alliance with CSFB, enabling it to provide a full range of investment banking and institutional equities services in New Zealand. It will also work closely with the recently restructured CSFB retail business, First NZ Securities.
Record Numbers get Sorted
The Retirement Commission says record numbers of people are logging into its Sorted website to get out of debt and sort out their personal finances.
The Sorted site, which was launched in September, has just surpassed a quarter of a million visitors. In a random survey of site visits, three out of five visitors said that Sorted had changed the way they manage their money.
The most commonly visited parts of the site are its interactive calculators, with the debt calculators being the most popular. The budgeting calculator and the Money Personality Profiler are the next most visited parts.
