Numeria is a new finance company which boasts management with a wealth of experience in the finance industry.

Our name, derived from the Latin word for finance, reflects our reliance on conservative financial practices and focus on steady growth.

Headed by Kelly Wright, with over 20 years of banking and finance industry experience including roles with Barclays Bank, Trust Bank Holdings, WestpacTrust and most recently a period as CEO of Pacific Retail Finance, Numeria’s people possess a comprehensive and realistic understanding of opportunities in the financing sector and the pressures that New Zealand’s businesses face.

For many of those businesses, providing finance to their customers is critical to completing the sale process. It is also critical to extending the merchant-customer relationship in a way that benefits both parties. However, there have been few flexible and cost-effective options for businesses who wish to use customer finance as a key selling and branding point.

Numeria Finance is a company that specialises in providing financing to these sectors of the market. By carefully selecting a number of market niches, whether in the retail factoring, investment loans, mortgage, personal loan or leasing market, we enhance the relationship between our customers – the merchants – and their customers.

Numeria Finance uses a number of structures to provide customised finance offerings for a range of businesses across many industries. Funds are lent either directly to the customers of those merchants or by way of advances to companies with whom Numeria has formed a strategic alliance.

Business Philosophy

The Numeria Finance strategy is to deliver sustainable and steady growth by focusing on market niches where we can add the most value. We do this by:

  • Minimising the business risk for Numeria by pursuing a diverse range of revenue streams in sectors offering well-secured lending opportunities.
  • Conversely not entering those subsets of the market where lending risks are too high or where other finance providers already dominate. Numeria does not try to be all things to all people nor will it lose the ability to respond flexibly to market conditions.
  • Working with business partners with strong revenue streams or with particular experience in their segment of the industry.
  • Protecting the relationship between merchant and customer and the value of the merchant brand. Numeria is not seeking to become a consumer-driven brand.
Market opportunities

Numeria’s confidence in its approach is based upon the experience, contacts and insights of our leadership team in the finance industry.

Numeria has already established loan/lease origination relationships with well-known companies in the retailing, communications and business solutions markets. Arising from these relationships and from contacts of Numeria's board and management team, over $1.5 million in loan-related assets have already been created on Numeria's balance sheet.

Quality management

Numeria’s market advantage will be conditional on it being able to swiftly approve and develop competitive financing arrangements. The company’s lean management structure is designed to minimise bureaucracy and maximise market responsiveness. Merchant relationship managers will develop and maintain key relationships.

Conservative Lending Practices

While Numeria's management and directors believe the company has a positive growth outlook, that growth will be pursued within a framework that is profitable, balanced and manageable. As mentioned before, the lending portfolio of the company focuses on secure lending opportunities, and sectors deemed high-risk will be avoided. The company is dedicated to conservative lending fundamentals.

Offer

Numeria Finance is offering at par up to a maximum of $100 million in Debenture Stock at a range of attractive rates depending on the term of the investment. In addition, Numeria Finance is also offering a maximum of $25 million in unsecured on call deposits.

An investor is not liable to pay any commission to Numeria in respect of the Offer. However, Numeria will in certain circumstances pay commission or brokerage to Members of the New Zealand Stock Exchange and to Numeria’s other investment agents on the value of the Debenture Stock issued.

Funds received will be used to support the company’s lending operations either directly to the customers of merchants or by way of advances to companies with whom Numeria has formed a strategic alliance. The company believes the Offer will provide not only a steady rate of return to investors, but an introduction to a well-managed business with good growth opportunities.

In summary:

Numeria's business philosophy can be summed up as :-

  • Conservative lending and diversified “niche” strategies to minimise risk
  • Possession of in depth market knowledge and insights by our leadership team
  • Recognition of importance of financing to sales process
  • Customised, cost-effective and flexible offerings to retail merchants and other loan originators.
