Health Funds loses boss

Andrea Pettett is leaving the health Funds Association to become the first chief executive of the Health IT Cluster.

by Rob Hosking

Pettett has been executive director of the Health Funds Association, which is made up of the country’s health insurers, for more than five years.

The association has been a major force in pushing the debate for more favourable tax treatment for private healthcare.

It is currently looking for a replacement, she says, and it will continue as an entity alongside the two other bodies which cover the insurance industry.

“It was felt that we’ve got a particular focus and expertise and that it’s valuable to keep that,” she says.

Pettett will take up her new role at the end of January.
