News Round Up

We’re a little bit backwards this week running News Round Up today instead of yesterday. Why? Because we had the ASB Investors Confidence survey to run yesterday. For many of you who have returned to work this week the survey is a nice positive start. More thoughts on this are in Phil’s Blog later this morning.
Auckland gets AMPed
It won’t be hard to find an AMP adviser in Auckland this week – there are 1500 of them from New Zealand, Australia and India attending their national convention.
According to AMP this is one of the largest conferences to be held in New Zealand. It also says that bringing the three-day gabfest to New Zealand for the first time “is a reflection of the importance of the New Zealand market to AMP.”
“In 2004, we moved AMP Financial Services head office to Auckland,” says AMP Financial Services Managing Director, Stephen White. “Now, this major conference heading to Auckland shores signifies just how important the Auckland market is to AMP and the strong position we are in for growth in the New Zealand market.”
“Our financial services industry is dynamic and the outcome of the Government-appointed Taskforce promises to bring further change, which will be great news for the end consumer.”
Another reminder
Late January and February are the time for lots of company roadshows aimed at getting advisers and planners fired up for the year ahead. Details of various events including the TOWER Quick Start series and AIA and ING’s nationwide tours are in the Good Returns Diary.
Another set of events to check out is the Adviserlink education courses.
