Wairarapa Building Society has increased its one and two-year fixed rates. Its one-year rate went up 25 basis points to 6.25% and its two-year rate rose by 20 bps to 7.40%. Wairarapa Building Society last increased its one-year rate in June 2009 and with this addition to its two-year rate it's now one of the highest rates for this term for a building society.
Other changes recently included Cairns Lockie and its subsidiaries making 24, 25 and 26 basis point increases to its six-month, one-year and two-year rates respectively. This is their second increase to six-month rates this month totalling an increase of 54 points.
