Insurance advisory group TNP is expanding its reach and setting up a wealth management arm.

Currently the group, which has more than 300 members, services insurance advisers and also mortgage brokers.
The new wealth management arm is being set up as a number of members already do investment advice.
The Wealth management arm is being headed by David Yates who has worked with Jamie Coltman previously.
A key point of difference, Yates says, is that TNP will use Lonsec research and asset allocation from Farrellys.
Yates says the Farrellys approach is dynamic and differs from the normal tactical/strategic asset allocation approaches taken by other advisers.
He says TNP's goal is to be the pre-eminent portfolio construction and wealth management service for non-aligned advisers.
It will offer model portfolios and will also establish and investment committee of TNP advisers.
Yates describes it is a "modular" service allowing advisers to use the pieces they need.
TNP Wealth Management will be offered to non-wealth management advisers who want to broaden their business and service offering. It will offer a para-planning service as part of its operations.
