Collins is presently the general manager adviser distribution at Sovereign and will take up the appointment in April.
NZHL chairman Neil Richardson says it was very pleasing to have attracted a person of Collins' calibre to take up the position from one of the company's founders and chief executive, John Erkkila.
He says Collins has considerable experience in the areas of risk management, lending and across the general finance industry and with Sovereign as a key strategic partner of NZHL, is well versed in the company and its client base.
"We believe that he will maintain the growth of NZHL and enhance its strong reputation in the mortgage and financial management industry."
Erkkila will remain actively involved with the company, responsible for perusing new
business opportunities and growing new franchisee businesses. He will remain a director and shareholder.
