Tauranga insurance advisory practice, Financial Independence has joined forces with DecisionMakers Tauranga to provide a full service financial practice.
Managing Director of the Financial Independence Group, Philip Holland, is excited about the two firms combining together. "This is the next step for us in providing our clients with a full service financial advice package. We now have a number of specialist advisers in each of the key areas in people's financial lives."
Holland believes that with the introduction of new regulations in the financial services industry the days of ‘generalists' are gone.
"In the good old days you had people giving advice on all areas and portrayed themselves as experts in everything. The reality is you can't be an expert in everything. Clients are demanding higher levels of advice and that is why we have structured Financial Independence into specialist divisions. An ideal scenario is that our clients receive specialist advice from a number of our advisers, who are all working together to give our clients the best possible outcome".
DecisionMakers is a nationwide group of professional Financial Planners & Investment Advisers. Managing Director of DecisionMakers Tauranga, Mrs Tanya Gilchrist is also excited about the combined group. "Working with Financial Independence is a natural fit for DecisionMakers Tauranga. Both firms place the client first and believe in specialists' roles rather than generalists".
Gilchrist is also looking forward to the future growth of the group. "I have watched Financial Independence grow from an average life insurance broking firm to a market leader and am looking forward to being part of a vibrant team of professionals who are not afraid to grow a great business and place clients interests first".
The combined firms will bring the Financial Independence group to over 26 staff offering specialist advice covering the entire insurance field, from life to domestic and commercial insurance, financial planning and investments, Kiwisaver and mortgage broking.
