BNZ offers new rate and lowers others

BNZ has today introduced a new "Classic" one-year fixed rate of 4.95% and at the same time removed its 18-month "Classic" rate. It has also shaved 10 basis points from its three-year Standard and Global Plus rates and taken 11 points off the five-year rates for the same products. This change means that its five-year Standard and Global Plus rates are now below the 7% mark.
Over at Westpac the bank is talking mobile again and says customers can top up their loans using their phones. More details here
