Bad broker Buddle changes plea
Former mortgage broker Kerry Buddle has changed her plea to guilty when she appeared in the Wellington District Court this week on fraud charges.

Buddle had originally pleaded not guilty to the 27 charges, but changed her plea when she appeared in ahead of her trial.
The trial was due to start next week.
Buddle's Kapiti Coast firm Get Smart Mortgages and Insurance, operated as part of the Kiwi Mortgage Market. Her case has attracted a significant amount of media interest including appearances o television.
The 27 charges relate to about 10 victims who lost in total between $600,000 and $800,000 due to her offending.
She was remanded on bail to allow restorative justice to occur.
Buddle will be sentenced in July.

To add insult to injury the dispute resolution provider she joined didn't have an issue with her becoming a member despite that fact that none of the main banks would deal with her.
An industry database of advisers who agencies have been cancelled would be a good idea and perhaps for those advisers who also do mortgages the status of their mortgage broking agreements should be shared also.
