ANZ tops Morningstar awards
ANZ Investments has taken the top award at the Morningstar New Zealand Fund Manager of the Year Awards in Auckland tonight.

ANZ beat AMP Capital and Nikko Asset Management for the New Zealand Fund Manager of the Year award.
Morningstar said ANZ’s performance across all asset classes had remained impressive in 2014, with investors benefiting from fee reductions. “ANZ Investment’s unwavering commitment to the local market makes it the well-deserved winner of Morningstar’s overall award for New Zealand funds management excellence.”
ANZ Investments also took out the international equities and KiwiSaver categories.
AMP Capital won the fixed interest category. Devon Funds Management took the domestic equities award.
Morningstar Australasia director of manager research Tim Murphy said: “The winners of the New Zealand Morningstar Awards have all shown themselves to be first-class stewards of investor capital. The quality of their people, process, parent, price, and performance is a testament to their commitment to investors.”
Only fund managers with managed funds available for sale in New Zealand quality for the awards.
Morningstar determines the winner based on a combination of qualitative research by Morningstar's manager research analysts risk-adjusted returns over medium- to long-term periods and performance in the 2014 calendar year.
