Partners offers mobile tests

Friday, December 11th 2015, 6:00AM 7 Comments

Partners has launched a new mobile blood test and paramedical service to help get deals across the line.

It said it had been driven by adviser demand.

Advisers who want to use the service to arrange mobile blood tests for potential clients have to contact the insurer.

The mobile testing service then makes an appointment with the client.

Advisers cover the extra cost of the mobile service, including mileage, but Partners will cover the fee that would apply if the test was taken in a lab.

Partners said: "If you are having trouble getting a client to have their blood tests, you can now offer this value-added service which will help get even more business issued."

Good Returns. Can you please remove this post as I would hate other providers getting wind of this and start charging me for something they have provided free up until now.

to Ron Flood. If the provider pays then this is a cost simply and ultimately passed on to policy holders. Whether you get charged or not should not matter (the cost estimates do not seem onerous at all. What should matter are the policy features and benefits making the policy the most appropriate for the client. It's about time we as a profession started really understanding that!

Are you saying Tash that it's not right, and the FMA would look unfavourably on an adviser if the reason they chose a company for a client was because they don't charge for a mobile blood test?

It would appear that some of you have taken my attempt at humour a bit too seriously.

However, this leads me to thinking that maybe the next innovative step may be, "further to our very successful mobile test service, and adviser demand, get you applications completed even faster with our new 'contract an underwritter' programme. For the low cost of $150 per hour you can be assured that your application will go to the top of their queue."

Act now as this is limited to the first 100 advisers who register. LOL

Lighten up, stay safe and have a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.

Excellent Ron.
Me? I'll stick to writing with companies that CAN AFFORD to provide such things as paramedicals. And claims.

Dirty Harry. I am sure a company that has just posted an $18.4 million profit is able to meet all its obligations.

Years ago a broker offered onsite doctor and nurse medical tests for Sovereign/Colonial. This service has just been copied by Partners. At the time Sovereign/Colonial sanctioned the procedure. But later it was discovered secret policy wording changes were made that were applied retrospectively to reduce any liability as to claims. The secret with respect to insurance is look at what is not said and what is concealed by insurance offices and not what they promote. NZ is full of rampant inappropriate market practices as insurance offices fight for premium revenue in an existing mature market. The real issue is that the regulators turn a blind eye and conspire with insurance offices to conceal bad faith and unfair practices - which insurance offices are exempt from under latest legislation.
