Kingfish manager steps down

Fisher Funds’ senior portfolio manager Murray Brown is to retire.

Murray Brown

He has spent more than 30 years in the finance sector.

He has most recently been senior portfolio manager for Kingfish Ltd and also had responsibility for Fisher Funds’ property and infrastructure portfolios.

Kingfish is a listed investment company, run by Fisher Funds, that focuses on New Zealand shares. Kingfish’s share price has risen 11% over the past 12 months, lagging the NZX’s 16% increase.

Brown has been at Fisher for the past eight years but before that was director of research at First NZ Capital.

Fisher Funds announced that his retirement would take effect from October 28.
