Cigna cuts ties with LifeDirect
Thursday, June 28th 2018, 3:26PM
Cigna insurance products will no longer be offered by online platform LifeDirect.
It said Fidelity life and nib were altering their rates for the new financial year, and Cigna was opting out entirely.
Any applications for Cigna products had to be completed before June 29 to be honoured.
Mark Kenning Cigna Life Insurance New Zealand head of sales, partnerships and business development said the company had decided it was not commercially viable to continue to participate in the LifeDirect channel.
“This will not impact existing Life Direct/Cigna Customers who we will continue to service.”
It was not related to Cigna’s purchase of OnePath, which has an adviser distribution channel.
