By the year 2050, the population of the Auckland Metropolitan area will have doubled, and nearly a third of us could be living in high-density developments.
The Regional Growth Forum’s Capacity For Growth report, published in March, says apartments, terraced housing and townhouses, which currently account for 15 per cent of Auckland’s dwellings, could rise to 30 per cent.
