Case of landlord convicted of allowing too many people into four properties not usual say property investors

An assurance from property investors that the case of a west Auckland landlord, caught packing too many people into four of his properties, is not the norm.Meng Teck Yeo admitted charges brought by Waitakere City Council, after it discovered the overcrowding in unsanitary conditions.
He has been fined $7,000 on each of the seven charges.
Auckland Property Investors' Association member, Leigh Whiley, says most landlords do not treat their tenants that way, but such cases tend to happen during a property boom.
