Housing New Zealand Corporation regional manager David Griffiths said at the time of Dr Smith's comments the corporation had ended two tenancies following Tenancy Tribunal action, and had taken a third to the tribunal. That tenant had now also been evicted.
"HNZC had been working with these tenants for some time and as a last resort all three tenancies were ended. Two of the properties have been vacated and will be re-let and the third is due to be vacated within the next week," Mr Griffiths said.
The organisation was continuing to meet police and Nelson City Council representatives to discuss the area, and was monitoring its tenants closely, he said.
Dr Smith said he had a meeting with Orchard St residents a week or two ago and had "some issues" he was following up with Child Youth and Family.
He could not specify what they were as they were "personal details" about certain families.
Housing New Zealand had been proactive in responding to his concerns, he said.
