Scam warning over rent-to-own homes
A con-artist promoting rent-to-own homes, is claimed to be fleecing people in the western Bay of Plenty and Waikato.

Police say at least three people have already fallen victim to the scam.Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Turner says the suspect is a 39-year-old man who goes by the name of Thomas Blackmore, or Kerrin Henderson.
He says the man has a solid to fat build, wears glasses, and has short brown mousey hair, and a beard.
He is offering rent-to-buy deals to members of the public, and then takes cash deposits and/or motor vehicles from his victim, promising they wil. be given a house.
