Waitara leased-land row closer to hearing
Just who should be part of the Waitara Leaseholders Association's (WLA) legal proceedings against the New Plymouth District Council was sorted out in the High Court in New Plymouth yesterday.

The association is challenging the council's decision of March 30 to sell 146ha of leasehold land to the Crown, on condition it then uses the land as part of its Treaty Settlements to Te Atiawa.
At the end of yesterday's hearing, Justice Heath made several rulings, most of which went the way of the plaintiff, the WLA.
