Push for more Shore park land
The heat is being turned up on the Auckland Regional Council to buy parks in North Shore before the land is lost to housing.

The North Shore City Council says it has the least amount of regional park land of all the councils in the region.Its submission to the Auckland Regional Council's (ARC) Long Term Council Community Plan strongly urges the ARC prioritise buying North Shore parks.
Potential coastal park land is at risk of being lost to development and the issue needs to be tackled now, Mayor George Wood says.
The ARC has given priority to buying land further out of the city because it gets more land for its money, Mr Wood says.
