Top views make fire base hot property
Developers are queuing up with offers for a prime piece of Takapuna land worth millions of dollars that may soon be on the market.

The Fire Service is planning to sell the Takapuna Fire Station property next to Killarney Park if a new venue in Glenfield is approved.The Fire Service and the National Trading Company have applied for consent with the North Shore City Council for a Pak 'N Save supermarket and a fire station between 30 and 60 Wairau Rd.
North Shore chief fire officer Denis O'Donoghue says since they started looking at a new property about a year ago they have had around seven or eight `very strong inquiries' from people who want to buy the current site.
