Residents vent their anger
Angry Tarurutangi residents showed their frustration yesterday by protesting outside the rural Upland Rd house into which mental health patients will move later this month.

About 60 people, including young mothers pushing prams, children, and the elderly waved placards saying, "Don't trust the trust", "Tell us the truth", "What are you hiding?" and, "Tarurutangi community freedom RIP".A cardboard coffin on the driveway had a sign saying, "Death to consultation" and another said, "Are you next?"
The group is upset the community did not have the chance to consult Te Toka O Maru O Taranaki Trust about placing four male patients, who will have 24-hour supervision, in the home.
