Hayes news delights supporters
Hayes Paddock supporters are pleasantly surprised by Hamilton City Council's announcement it wants to have another look at whether the Hamilton East state housing area should be a heritage zone.

Architectural historian Ann McEwan and Hayes Paddock Property Owners' and Ratepayers' Association spokesman Mark Henry have welcomed the decision to hold a public meeting on July 4.They thought all hope of getting protection for the 70-year-old suburb was lost after the council last year was successful in getting the High Court to set aside an Environment Court decision which backed Hayes Paddock residents.
"Thank God someone has realised Hamilton deserves better," Ms McEwan said.
