Bay land values continue to soar
Western Bay landowners are about to get an early Christmas present _ news that their official land valuations have, on average, more than doubled in the past three years.

And it's likely to be a similar story for their Tauranga neighbours, who can expect a healthy flow-on effect just a year ahead of the city's own land revaluations.Letters are on their way to landowners in the Western Bay of Plenty District Council's area, setting out the revised land valuations and for most it will be confirmation that prices in the Western Bay have continued to soar.
The council's governance manager Blaise William said the land valuations have risen on average by 122 per cent, but differ widely depending upon location.
