Taupo hotel project takes off
The second stage of development at one of Taupo's principal hotels is about to start.

Construction is expected to begin early next month, once resource consent is granted, on 40 managed apartments behind the historic Terraces Hotel on the Napier-Taupo Road.The apartment complex is the second stage of a long-term project to develop the eight-hectare site by owners Terraces Hotel and Resort, a consortium of five Taupo and Auckland investors.
The first stage, completed three months ago, saw the 115-year-old hotel undergo extensive refurbishment at a cost of $3.5 million.
