Vision Kerikeri, including representation from the local business and ratepayer associations, has sourced funds and engaged an Auckland planning lawyer to provide advice on opposing the hotel development in its proposed form. They are calling for all three resource consent applications to be notified for public comment because of their effects on amenity and a petition is being organised so that the community can show support for their stance.
Member Rod Brown says, "Vision Kerikeri aims to promote the development of Kerikeri in a coherent way, which respects its values."
