Takapuna village gets green light
Resource management consent has been received by Metlifecare so it can build one of New Zealand's largest retirement villages on a prime North Shore site at Takapuna.

Metlifecare Limited announced last week that its agreement with Calan Healthcare Properties Trust to purchase the 1.83ha site at 142 Shakespeare Rd, Takapuna had gone unconditional following the expiry of a November 1 deadline for lodging appeals to the resource consent.Metlifecare Limited is purchasing the land for $12,825,000 plus GST through a wholly owned subsidiary, Metlifecare Takapuna Limited, (formerly Hazlewood Holdings Limited).
The proposed lifestyle village will contain 241 luxury apartments and a care facility.
