Call for investigation
A Howick residents group chairman wants an investigation after the Environment Court reversed a Manukau City Council decision on a controversial office and apartment building planned for Howick.

Ratepayers and residents association chairman Russell Wylie is not satisfied with the way the council handled developer Vector Holdings' resource consent application for a seven-level building on Fencible Drive. He is also unhappy the case had to go to the Environment Court to achieve a satisfactory result.The association and Howick resident Walter Moffat appealed to the Environment Court, which heard the case in November. Applicant Vector Holdings also appealed against some of the consent's conditions.
The commissioners released their ruling at the end of last month. They declined consent for the project.
