Council's leaky staircase wall to be repaired
Council has been landed with the cost of repairing a damaged section of a staircase tower wall at the northern end of its main office building in Taupo after unsuccessful efforts to get compensation from those involved in its construction.

However, it is reserving the right to proceed with legal action to gain compensation once the repairs are carried out.
The stairwell was constructed in 2000 as part of an extension to the main office building to provide an alternative access way and emergency exit for staff.
