Drop in apartments drags consents down
Falling numbers of apartments dragged the total number of building consents down in February.

The number of building consents issued fell 1.7% for the month.
The 66 apartments and units issued consents in February were the lowest number of apartments in almost a year.
But when apartments and units were excluded, seasonally-adjusted consents rose 3% in the month.
In February, Canterbury consented 30% of the country's new dwellings, while Auckland consented 26%.
