Terry Le Grove is taking over the role with the national organisation, which has 20 local property investors' associations affilitated to iot/
The association represents 6000 investors and landlords.
Le Grove said: “The NZPIF is committed to ensuring that residential property investors throughout New Zealand are properly represented. Housing is a critical issue and private landlords are providing homes for New Zealanders when they cannot, or do not, want to buy their own homes. It is well documented that Housing NZ is unable to fully meet the current demand for rental properties."
A survey of members in April this year showed that more than 29,000 tenancies are owned by members of Associations affiliated to the NZPIF.
“This is more than seven billion dollars’ worth of property”, said le Grove “We are a significant segment of the residential property industry.”
Le Grove will work alongside executive officer Andrew King, meeting politicians and other Government officials to help build understanding of the issues facing the rental property industry.
