Tackle RMA first: Property Council
The Property Council wants the newly-elected Government to prioritise the Resource Management Act reforms.

It said the reforms must include provisions to ensure the effective functioning of the built environment, including the availability of land for urban expansion and development, are appropriately factored into decision making processes.
Other changes should allow for the efficient provision of infrastructure and methods to deal with the impacts of natural hazards.
Chief executive Connal Townsend said the reforms needed to provide more consistency and certainty across the country.
“The effective functioning of the built environment and the availability of land to support changes in population and urban development demand are at the heart of these reforms and to progress. With a clear mandate, the Government should now press forward with these changes so the country can reap the benefits sooner.”
